The visionary of Canaan Church is the renowned Ivan Terence Davis. Pastor Davis knew at an early age that God wanted to use him. Pastor Davis is married to the former Cheryl McCullogh of Charlotte, North Carolina and they have three sons.

God instilled within Pastor Davis a desire to evangelize locally and abroad, with special emphasis on the homeless. Licensed and ordained by the Lumber River Association, Pastor Davis has accomplished many personal and professional achievements. He has hosted several radio broadcasts both regional and worldwide as well as an internet broadcast on "The Preaching Network". His messages are broadcast in Africa, Russia. Canada, Norway, Finland and other parts of the world. In addition to these accomplishments, he is the owner of "ITD2PREACH Wear Christian Shirt Company".

Apostle Davis' educational background includes: Pembroke State University B.A., Andersonville Theological Seminary B.A., M. Rel. ED., Fayetteville Technical Community College A.A.S. Funeral Service Education, with additional studies at Virginia Union University School of Education.

Raised in a traditional church, First Baptist Church, Lumberton North Carolina, Pastor Davis answered the call of God to walk in an Apostolic anointing and to be "set apart" from a traditional setting. As Senior Pastor and founder of Canaan Church Goldsboro, North Carolina, Pastor Davis continues to be much in demand as a lecturer and conference teacher/preacher.
