Overseer Cheryl M. Davis

Overseer Davis is the founder and overseer of the WOW (Women of Witness) Ministry at Canaan Church. WOW was organized in 1999 by the leading of Holy Spirit and with the blessings of Apostle Davis. At it's inception, WOW became an organization dedicated to promoting the well being of women in the church through prayer, fasting, and fellowship.

Under the direction of Overseer Davis, WOW has been involved in feeding the homeless, clothing outreach to Africa and the local community, nursing home ministry, and the battered women's shelter. Also, in July of 1999, the Inaugural Women's Conference was held, "Living and Walking in the More Than...as Conquerors".

Overseer Davis is very supportive of Apostle Davis and the ministry of Canaan Church. She directs the Canaan Mass Choir, sings on the Praise Team and teaches Bible study as well as the WOW Fellowship classes. Overseer Davis is a devoted wife to Pastor Davis and mother to their three sons. She is the owner of the Lydia Group provider of  Speech / Language Therapy   for K-4. She is a licensed Speech Pathologist of  25 years.

Overseer Davis' prayer is that those who enter into the gates of Canaan will feel the presence of God. Also, her desire is to see those who are not saved, give their lives to the Lord and those who are backslidden, return unto the Lord before it is too late. Her prayer and vision for WOW is that all of the sisters become stronger in the Lord spiritually, emotionally and that the benefits of serving the Lord would overtake them as they strive to do God's will.
